Travel Assistance
January - December 2026
Please read the information provided in full before sending the completed form.
Purpose:In order to promote the growth and sharing of knowledge amongst WDTF theatre societies by providing financial assistance to cover directors (theatrical, musical and technical) who are working for a society with which they are not usually associated.
Travel Assistance:A financial grant of up to $200 can be made towards (i.e. it is not designed entirely to cover) a director’s travel expenses at the following rates based on the return mileage between the director’s place of residence and the society’s rehearsal venue:
40 – 50km: grant of $12550 – 60km: grant of $15060 – 70km: grant of $17570km+: grant of $200
The WDTF Executive will determine whether to award a grant on a case-by-case basis. In making its decision the Executive will be guided by the Purpose (above) and the following consideration: > Is this the first time/first time for several years the director has been approached to direct for the applying society? (NOTE: if the director regularly participates in that society’s activities in a non-directorial capacity then, mileage notwithstanding, an application is less likely to succeed)
In the event of a grant being made the fact of the grant must be acknowledged in the programme as follows:
[name of society] gratefully acknowledges the financial support providedby the Wellington District Theatre Federation under its “Director’s TravelAssistance Scheme”.
